When I was in Young Women's, Girl's Camp consisted of a lot of time with the girls in our ward and a handful of activities with the whole stake. One of the stake activities we did every year was a five-mile hike.

The summer I was sixteen, we took a wrong turn during the hike. When we came out on the road leading into camp, we were a ways away and some of the girls were out of water, so the brother leading the hike walked back to camp to get the leaders still back there to drive out and pick us up.

Lydia and I, my friend Caroline from another ward, and several other girls entertained ourselves by singing - mostly camp songs, but at one point Lydi and I did sing a silly version of a mainstream song that we'd altered previously. But some of us had been singing while walking, too, so that may have come during the actual hike. But there was one girl who was sitting around and being a grump. I think she was one of the girls who had run out of water. We invited her to join us, but she said, "I don't want to be happy right now."

The hike and singing while waiting around for our ride back was my favorite part of camp that year.
